Fourth Year pupil Isla Whitford performs in festive production of Oliver Twist
The production was adapted by Deborah McAndrew and was enriched with a festive, musical twist, incorporating Victorian carols and folk tunes.
Isla played Rose Brownlow, a central character in the original Dickensian tale, who is revealed to be Oliver’s aunt. Isla had to adhere to a strict professional schedule, often performing twice daily in both matinee and evening performances. She also had to balance her schoolwork with the rehearsal schedule leading up to the opening night at Theatre 41 in York on December 17. The production received excellent reviews from local theatre directors and actors, a testament to Isla’s talent and commitment.
This experience has been invaluable for Isla, teaching her not only the intricacies of theatre production but also the importance of hard work and dedication. We are pleased to see Isla receive such positive reviews and recognition for her talent and commitment.
