Co-curriculum
The Senior School feeds inquiring minds with a broad and stimulating curriculum to widen pupils’ intellectual and cultural horizons. Pupils are encouraged to take control of their own learning, to feel comfortable taking risks and see mistakes as part of the journey of discovery. Every child’s academic profile is unique; we challenge our most able pupils whilst also supporting those with specific learning needs.
We offer inclusive sports opportunities for all pupils, allowing them to compete at their own level and learn important lessons about teamwork and playing with a good sporting spirit.
Our extensive co-curricular activities and trips help our pupils discover new talents and build communication, leadership and resourcefulness skills, boosting their confidence and self esteem.
Our ethos &
values
We are a day and boarding Christian foundation that is academic and inclusive and a family school whose togetherness, care for each other and pride in our community is evident in our outstanding pastoral provision. At the very heart of our ethos lie our Values and Virtues; they drive all that we do at Pocklington and mean our students leave with a strong sense of personal and social responsibility, along with the ability to shape their own future. The Pocklington Values of Courage, Truth and Trust, along with the nine Virtues which underpin them, are embedded in every aspect of Pocklington School life to sustain, inspire and galvanise the whole School community. |
