Our Charity Work

At Pocklington School, contributing to our local community is a key part of our values and traditions and continues the culture of philanthropy that has been integral to the School since it was founded over 500 years ago.

Pocklington School’s Sixth Form-led charity week is a cherished tradition, eagerly anticipated by both pupils and staff each year. It not only brings a sense of excitement but also offers a chance to reflect on the world beyond school. The entire senior school community unites to organise various fundraising activities, supporting four charities selected by the academic houses.

Community Action Programme

The Community Action Programme offers Sixth Form students the opportunity to positively impact the wider community and improve people’s lives.

This year, students from Pocklington School are volunteering with various charities and organisations as part of the programme.

Pocklington School has formed two additional partnerships with local service providers.

  • Pocklington Tennis Club

Lower Sixth Sports Leaders students assist with inclusive tennis sessions for disabled adults during the Michaelmas term.

  • Kings Mill School for Disabled Children

Lower Sixth Sports Leaders students visit and lead sports sessions to the children during the Lent term.
