Senior Learning Support

Our team, led by SENCo, Lisa Hutchinson PGCert SpLD (Dyslexia) AMBDA PATOSS NASENCO, consists of highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals who work to ensure that our pupils receive the support they need.

We take great pride and pleasure in helping all of our learners achieve their full potential

Our Learning Support Department has three dyslexia specialists who focus on improving literacy skills of Lower School pupils to equip them for success in the classroom. We also offer mathematics interventions to pupils who require additional help with numeracy. In addition, we provide a wide range of support for pupils with SEND, including but not limited to ASC, dyscalculia and ADHD.

As our pupils progress through School, we continue to broaden our support services to enable pupils to get the very best out of their core GCSE subjects. We enlist the help of subject specialists to create tailored learning support packages from a range of subject areas. For those with specific learning difficulties, we offer an alternative language pathway that provides ongoing learning support whilst still studying a modern language.

If you are interested in learning more about how we can support your child’s journey through Pocklington School, please don’t hesitate to contact Lisa Hutchinson (SENCo).
